Chiranjeevi has enacted dual role
in this film. The film opens with scene where Chiranjeevi come to city in
search of livelihood in the city with his granny Manorama. He is befriended by
Brahmanandam and taken to Soundarya who gives rickshaws for rent. One day while
driving passengers on his rickshaw, he confronts with Nagma who hit it by
driving her car arrogantly. He files a suits against her in the court but fails
due to the influence of Nagma's wealthy father PareshRawal. After some scenes
PareshRawal forces his daughter to marry Chiranjeevi to build up his political
career as Chiru has good mass following in his area. Manorama sees Paresh and
then reveals Chiru and us about his past. His father(also Chiranjeevi) a good
human being and also a village head. Envied by the good name he has in the
village Pareshrawal traps his sister and sees that she suicides and also blames
his wife Jayasudha that she is illicit. He kills Chiranjeevi in a village fight
and that blame is taken by Jayasudha and she is in jail and all the villagers think
that she is actual cause of all this. Now the son takes revenge on the villain
and opens the truth before the villagers. Also Nagma transforms to be his
lovable wife after knowing her fathers' deeds.

Rikshavodu is directed by Kodi RamaKrishna after Ammoru in 1996.Chiru played
dual roles in this average flick, which was the last movie before a big break
for 13 months.Chiru is shown as a rikshavodu, living with his
granny(manorama), having fun with neighbour(soundarya).One fine day his rikshaw
was hit by a car, and trying to trace her licence number, chiru runs into
Nagma, lonely daughter of a millionaire(paresh rawal).Chiru Plans to kidnap her and teach her a lesson.After
returning home Nagma decides to take revenge on chiru by marrying him and
keeping him away from marital-life.Paresh Rawal warns chiru and his granny, and at that time
Manorama recognizes him and unfolds the flashback of chiru.Chiru, realizing
that he’s the son of a legendary father, and his mother is in jail, charged of
his father’s murder, sets off to meet her(Jayasudha).Through his mother, he realizes how his
father,Dharmaraju(Chiru), a noble yet daring man was trapped into a rape case
and was sent to jail, and meanwhile his aunt was raped and killed in his
absence.DharmaRaju returns from jail and on knowing this, sets off to kill the
goons.He succeeds in killing the elder brother of Paresh Rawal, but Paresh
escapes and kills Dharmaraju by trechery.Jayasudha will be trapped into this
murder case and sent to jail.Now, Chiru is set to take revenge for all this,
and how he kills Paresh and how Nagma realizes the truth forms the climax.Koti’s music is pretty average, one song Roop Tera Mastana
by Baba saigal catches up with the youth and masses.
