Box-office performance :

The movie has earned 107.3 million rupees in its opening week and 158.9 million rupees by the end of the second week, giving a strong competition with Sivaji, a Rajnikanth starrer. Considering its low budget of Rs. 9 Crores into concern it was declared a super hit. It has brought Raviteja, depressed about the failure of Khatarnak Into Wonderful Joy which was released with nearly 250 prints. But critically it received just positive response.

The Story:

Srinivas (Ravi Teja) is very popular in his village as Dubai Seenu. He has dreams of going to Dubai to earn lots of money. However, Seenu and his friends reach Mumbai get cheated by a fraudster (Venu Madhav). After realising that they were cheated, they start a Pav Bhaji centre with the help of Patnaik (Krishna Bhagawan). He is also a fraudster.
Madhumati (Nayantara), who was working as a Radio Jockey goes to Mumbai in search of her brother. Seenu meets Madhu in a local train and loses his heart. Luckily she surfaces right before his Pav Bhaji centre. Seenu dares to propose his love, but Madhu does not reply and disappears. While Seenu was in search of Madhu, he meets Chakri (J. D. Chakravarthy).
In fact, Seenu helps Chakri who loved Puja (Neha Bamb) and got them married. Chakri and Puja promise Seenu to help him to go to Dubai. They make all arrangements. They too plan to return to Hyderabad to repay the loan borrowed by Chakri's father for his education. Just before leaving the office, Chakri finds that their boss is none other than Jinna Bhai (Sushant) the most wanted mafia don in India.
Finding that Chakri recognised him, Jinna and his brother (Raghu) kill both of them right before Seenu. Minutes before his death, Chakri reveals that Madhu was his sister. Seenu returns to Hyderabad.he also meets madhumathi and pays off her debt.when she asks how he got the money he reveals that it's her brother's money. Madhumathi's uncle (Sayaji Shinde) also wants to marry her. In the end, Seenu kills Jinna and his people and marries Madhumathi.

About The Movie:
Dubai Seenu (
Telugu: దుబాయ్ శీను”) is a 2007 Telugu film starring Ravi Teja in the lead role and Nayantara as Teja's love interest. The film is directed by Srinu Vaitla, who directed two other films of Ravi Teja, Nee Kosam and Venky. D.V.V. Danayya produces this film after the box office success of his maiden film, Desamuduru. This movie earned high family audiencies to raviteja and was a hit.

Bottom line :
Dubai Seenu is a time-pass movie. Though second half is a bit lengthy and the climax is not that impressive, yet it entertains.

Artists Performance :

Ravi Teja did the role that suits him the best. He performed really well in a character that is tailor-made for him. Nayana Tara is pretty good in the role of a troubled girl. JD Chakravarthi is different with a varied mustache. Neha (dil fame) is pretty attractive in this guest role. Sushant Singh suited the role of ‘master of disguise’ (changing get-ups to kill people ala Hrithik in Dhoom 2). Sayaji Shinde is neat in a comic villainy role. Among the comedians MS Narayana entertains the most as Soloman Raju (called as fire star hero in film industry and fans) who is kidnapped by the villain. Sunil is cool in the scene of enacting Dubai Shiek. Krishna Bhagawan comedy is also good.

Technical Departments:
Story - screenplay - direction: Story of the film is of routine revenge type. Director Seenu Vytla narrated the film in spaced flashbacks in order to maintain suspense. Hence the screenplay of the film is different. He also depended mostly on impromptu comedy by conceiving entertainment oriented scenes most of the time. Direction of the film is adequate. He should have taken care of the film in the latter part of second half. The climax should have been better. Seenu Vytla seems to have decided to opt for fast-paced entertainer narrative style (like Pokiri and Desa Muduru).

Other Departments :
Dialogues by Chintapalli Ramana are interesting. There are good Ramana style of one-liners like ‘Barista (coffee shop) … bharistama’ etc. Ravi Teja’s mannerism of ‘Appadam Aipoddi’ is good. Music by Mani Sharma is adequate. The songs in second half are better compared to the first half. Editing by newcomer Varma is adequate. Cinematography by Bharani K Dharan is alright. Fights are ok.

Analysis:
The first half of the film sails smoothly though there is not much of a story. Second half slows down. Seenu Vytla mixed entertainment with action elements. The climax should have been more convincing. The plus points of the film are Ravi Teja and comedy episodes. On the flip side the script should have been more compact. On a while it’s a time pass film if you are looking for Ravi Teja kind of comedy.
